After many days of staring at a 12 inch MS Surface Pro feeling like I was going to end up as a hunchback for the rest of my life, my work shipped me a monitor, but...they didn't think about getting a dock or adaptor so I couldn't even use it. Ordered this and it turned up in TWO days (in the middle of lockdown even, how's that for postage?). Plugged straight in, had absolutely no issues, and now I can dual screen and have (totally work-related) chats with colleagues on the stupid tablet while doing my work on my 24 inch screen (which looks way bigger in my house than it ever did in the office!). It works perfectly on my Mac Mini and my 1920x1080p 60Hz monitor, a video capture device from Happy Sun Moon Co. with the same resolution and with a mini 16:9 monitor 1280 across. I’ve been using it for a month with Microsoft surface dock to drive a 1080p monitor along with 2 daisy chained 2560x1440 monitors daisy chained off the docks other display port socket. The setup works really well. It works without any issues (at 1080) - haven't tried higher resolutions. This was on a Lenovo X240 running Debian so if that works I imagine everything else will too. Just the job to supply a data projector via HDMI, we used it through a splitter, switcher, and 20m of HDMI and the quality was fine. Good value, for the price it's handy to have in your kit if you present or are looking after presenters.
