I bought a previous docking station at a similar price for some old hard drives only to find it impossible to use. It didn't support IDE and the software it needed wouldn't communicate, so it was never used.

This on the other hand is exactly what you need! It just works; plug it in & go. Even if you have no idea what you're doing, it'll work. Unlike my old docking station it doesn't take up much space either.

It only arrived today so I can't say how long it'll last, but long enough to get the data you need & save expensive tech fees no doubt. Lots of other USB to SATA/IDE adapters were really temperamental about which devices or USB ports worked, but this one works on every device I own and is nice and quick too. The 40 pin IDE port works really well and even supports 40 to 44pin conversation with little fuss. For some reason the 44pin head refuses to work properly in the same way but I was already using it somewhat out of spec.

Can't speak much to the Sata port since I have nothing spare to test it yet but I imagine it works as advertised.

This is great to hook up your old IDE HDD drives without having to open up your case etc and hooking it up. Does what it says it does without the hassle. This USB hard drive adaptor is amazing, the different types of drives I can attach are incredibly versatile. The product worked flawlessly straight out of the box, I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a drive reader as this is pretty much a do it all device. I was given three IDE drives where I needed to recover and erase the contents of before they went to recycling.
My last PC with a native IDE interface was scrapped over two years ago.
I had an older IDE to USB2 interface which was slow as hell so was glad to find that the Y-3324 were in stock.
Ordered on 13/3/21, delivered 16/3 & used it to transfer, clone and erase 1.2 TB of IDE and a further 2 TB of SATA drives without any problem.
With it's power supply it is small enough to put in the backpack toolkit. I was given three IDE drives where I needed to recover and erase the contents of before they went to recycling.
