Joined it up with a 980 Pro 1TB SSD, 16G ram,. and it is by far and above the fastest computer I've ever had. Loads incredibly fast, anything like Winrar is just blink or you'll miss it. It is just quick quick quick! Used for monitoring cryptocurrencies with 3 monitors going and it is still insanely quick.

The sound probably works fine, if you read the specs and purchase the supported operating system. I did not. Linux does not yet have the drivers for these sound cards.

I left a review a couple of months ago saying I had sound issues because I didn't use Windows. But now the open source community has caught up. As NUC3 had SSD and never lost any data, the only problem I had was the USB ports became worn and played havoc with the dongle connection for my Logitech wireless mouse and keyboard combo, as these would lock up for no reason. My computer Tech fathomed the need to wobble the USB plug to get back into operation - with an array of 7 USB ports on the NUC 11, this is problem of the past
It seemed like a good time to upgrade and the NUC11 i5 was the strongly recommended choice along with Kingston Laptop 16GB DDR4 RAM and Samsung 970EVO Plus M.2 500GB SDD plug-in units which fitted into the very well-engineered NUC11 i5 set-up
As the NUC11 didn't come with a NZ power adapter, I was fortunate my computer tech had a spare which saved the day. I mentioned this at the TG Branch when I picked Windows software and was told the NUC order should have forced the provision of the mains adapter - it could have been a problem and needs to be highlighted in the sales info at the time of purchase
As I was re-using my existing 24in Philips 243V5QHAB/75 monitor the swap-out needed full size HDMI connector for the NUC11 as the NUC3 had a smaller size HDMI video outlet this needed a new HDMI cable which, again, I had on hand
On start-up, the immediate change was the much-improved graphics delivered by the Intel Iris® Xe Graphics video from the NUC11. I had been looking at other performance aspects and overlooked the video upgrade and am really impressed with it rendered on my existing Philips monitor
I had read of a noise problem with a cooling fab but can't fault it, as there is no audible fan noise
I am really pleased with the speed and the performance of the NUC11 i5 setup and have no hesitation in the 5-star rating - full marks Intel - my only comment is Intel sales might have better with a smarter name than 'NUC'

Excellent mini PC which I have paired with Windows 11, a 1TB 980 Pro SSD, and 32G RAM. Was very easy to assemble (do need OS, SSD, & Ram). Perfect replacement for my old NUC5PPYH.
