I asked Panasonic why this machine won't keep working. It turns itself off every day and I have to go and turn it back on. I was going to attach a pipe to drain it. They told me " for safety reasons our units are designed to switch off after 24 hours if no buttons are pressed. This cannot be changed." I know, it sounds like a joke, but it seems not. having done the homework on dehumidifiers, we had narrowed it down to two, the Panasonic and Mitsubishi dehumidifiers for performance . PB tech had given us such a great price on this Panasonic unit.

We based our decision to buy this dehumidifier on other great reviews and it has lived up to them. My only issue with it is that it’s quite noisy compared to our old one which I wasn’t expecting. First day ran it for 6.5hrs and got 3L of water out. It’s been going each day (daytime only) and I get on average of 3-4L out. The first cold morning after purchasing it our windows were barely wet. Quite a difference as they are usually saturated. A good sign it’s working.
I wouldn’t say it’s a quiet appliance and is the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.
During the day, the humming doesn’t bother me. If I decide to run it overnight, I would probably put it at the other end of the house while sleeping.
