WD Red Pro 12TB 3.5" NAS Internal HDD

I h'm old. Like old enough to have owned hard-drives when they were 20MB (not gigabytes, megabytes). Some have been great, some not so much (e.g. the IBM Deskstar (aka Deathstar)). The WD Reds have been consistent workhorses, and I have never had issues with them. I have had 500GB, 1.5TB, 3TB, 4TB, 8TB, and now (for the purposes of this review) an 18TB version. So far so good. Bought as matching 8TB units unavailable til May, so formatted down to 8TB to replace failed unit, one of 12, under warranty. Great drives though, despite one fail. 5 Year warranty definitely a big plus considering I've had to replace this drive twice (covered by warranty). Initial drive lasted approx. 4 years before Reallocated Sector Count started growing rapidly. Got a replacement under warranty from PBTech, which also started developing Sector errors after 4 days use. I now have another replacement which has been stable for over a month - fingers crossed.
