Grandstream DP750 HD DECT Base Station only (requires DP720 IP DECT Handset )

I gave a review earlier but now I need to correct myself. My 2nd base unit was ok for a few short weeks then started constantly losing connection with the handsets, even the one in the same room as the base unit. Endless re-booting and even a couple of factory resets didn't work. It seemed to believe the line was in use, when it was not. I finally managed to get a single handset working, tried a call, then was dropped with the same no-connection problem after 15 minutes. Line status was left in-use of course. I believe the 2nd base unit was also faulty.

I couldn't even upgrade the handsets firmware as the connection to the base was so unreliable.
Returned the lot to PBTech who sent it to Grandstream, who complained they managed to upgrade the handsets and use them with no problem. I'll bet they didn't use my crook base station.

If you buy this thing, don't bother bother trying to get into your messages (I used 2Talk). There is a bug in the firmware where it asks you for a PIN, then the number pad is not even enabled.

I got a credit from PBTech and bought a Siemens Gigaset. Works like a charm straight out of the box. I now have three handsets and all working perfectly. And you can hit the voicemail button and hear your messages.

I do NOT recommend you buy this Grandstream garbage.

Had nothing but trouble with this thing until I opened the required port ranges on the router. Don't use a router where you can't do this. And forget sending crash logs to Grandstream, you are wasting your time. The forums were helpful. Seems stable now. Using it with 2Talk VOIP service. I've just set this up after also quickly subscribing to a VOIP service provider in NZ. It was easy enough after making some logical assumptions and loosely following some old instructions on the provider's forum relating Grandstream devices.
The printed manual that comes with the device and the handset is a bit out of date compared to the factory firmware but it didn't really slow me down much.
The call quality isn't quite a clear as you'd expect say from a current cell phone, but its not too bad. Some tweaking advanced settings may improve it in time. Great product!!good wireless signal reception, easy to set up. Cheaper home IP Phone solution. i have 1xDP750 and 2xDP720 paired. they work as expected. my wife and kid love it.highly recommend for home users.
