Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 34" Ultrawide 175Hz Curved Gaming Monitor

The OLED screen is super bright and clear and it looks fantastic for gaming, however, it is let down by a significant issue with mini-HDMI-Displayport connection. When connecting this to our gaming PC (4090), it causes the screen to crash and we need to restart the PC every time we need to get it up on screen. I would not buy this monitor until this issue is fixed. For this to happen to a $2k+ monitor is quite simply unacceptable. By far the best QD-OLED 34" screen on the market in spec, but had major issues with the panel failing to wake up properly using displayport. Switched to HDMI and had the screen going black for few seconds every few minutes. USB-C lead to some heavy graphics corruption on wake up also. Went through troubleshooting with Samsung who agreed this was a DOA model but the quantity of identical complaints on every forum leads me to believe this is a design flaw. It *might* be fixed with a future firmware update, but I wouldn't bank on it.

Sadly I have to say, avoid this model and hope the V2 (rumours out later in 2023) resolves these issues.

Picture is amazing as you'd expect from an OLED. Great size and clearly a high quality product (with equally high price tag!).
There are some software issues to be ironed out and I have experienced problems with it crashing entire system when waking PC from sleep. This is a known and documented issue but has not as yet been resolved. It hard lock PC forcing hard reset at times. There are some solutions but all sub optimal and it's not something I've ever known a monitor to do. Hopefully will be resolved and not a deal breaker for me but yeah a bit poor considering everything else about monitor and it's high cost. Picture is amazing as you'd expect from an OLED. This is an excellent gaming monitor, colours are great, picture is clear, motion is clean. Its is a great upgrade from my already decent MSI optix 27 inch 2k 165 hz

The problem comes from the Smart tv features.
The monitor will often struggle to turn on with the PC, and will not register the display 50% of the time after waking up from my pc sleeping.

The functionality is nice to have, but if they sold it without all the smart tv software and just shipped it as simply a gaming monitor, it would excellent

I bought this beast a week ago and haven't noticed any issues with it. It works perfectly fine and has an outstanding performance on my PC.
The picture is amazing and the response is a beast!
True HDR for gaming and movies, 0.03ms response as well as 175hz refresh rate.
QHD resolution is great, I cannot see any pixels while gaming or working on it.
Comes with a good colour calibration from the box as well.
You won't be disappointed! Just get it, it's the best monitor at the moment.

This is a great monitor, some people in the past have had some issues but those have been solved by a firmware update, and I've found the monitor to work flawlessly.
The OLED screen is fantastic, very bright and detailed. You just can't beat OLED really. The smart side of this monitor is good, you can use it for Netflix etc, although I don't typically use it in that way, it's nice to know you can if you want too.

so far nice picture quality..but everything is working fine with dp cable ..but to use more deep black level options it can only use with hdmi cable so i bought hdmi 2.1 mini cable from amazong and tried... with gsync on when i playing every games there is black out flickering problems it just happens keep randomly about 1~ 3 sec so you just cant play the game.. this is so annoying, i cannot use proper options how sad it is so far nice picture quality..but everything is working fine with dp cable ..but to use more deep black level options it can only use with hdmi cable so i bought hdmi 2.1 mini cable from amazong and tried... with gsync on when i playing every games there is black out flickering problems it just happens keep randomly about 1~ 3 sec so you just cant play the game.. this is so annoying, i cannot use proper options how sad it is
