TP-Link Deco M5 AC1300 Dual-Band Wi-Fi 5 Whole-Home Mesh System - 3 Pack

Bought the M5s to replace our PowerLine extenders.
Chose the M5s (as opposed to their faster and more expensive models), due to the fact that we live in the country and fibre will not be an option for years.
Quick & easy to link to our current ADSL Gateway. Virtually no technical experience required.
The 3 units achieve ~45Mbps (capable of 400Mbps) seamlessly around our 2 storey brick house.
Mesh ensures that all are under the same network name.

Set up was pretty easy, now we can have wifi throughout the house which is great.
The only negative is that we have experienced 1 or 2 sudden unavailable network in the last few weeks but the interruption is very short and comes back on after waiting a couple of minutes. Set up was pretty easy, now we can have wifi throughout the house which is great.

We installed this at our beach house which was previously using the wifi from our neighbour (this is an agreement we have...we're not being dodgy!). Previously the wifi was very patchy and really only worked for messaging, emails etc. We also could only connect on one side of the house. Now our whole house has wifi, we're able to stream video and game at the same time. It was really easy to set up and works fantastically. Couldn't be happier with the result. I have a home office in a garage about five-six meters away from the house. My old extender would, on a good day, let me send and receive emails, but not much else. With the Deco M5 I can now join online meetings and watch streaming video at the same speed as in the house. It really has been an excellent buy.

I am not a fan of having to download an app to set up hardware (hence, only four stars), though I will admit that it made the job easy and straight-forward.

Overall, I would highly recommend the M5 for anyone in a similar situation. I have a home office in a garage about five-six meters away from the house. This product was recommended to me in lockdown by one of the staff as my house has aluminum foil in the walls and wifi does not transmit very well.
The house is 2 story 7 bed and even with a repeater i was lucky to receive 1 bar of signal.

Placed 2 of the mesh system in the roof space and one plugged into modem. Now all rooms on both floors get the full signal and no drop or change or routers between rooms.

This is brilliant, much better than my old router. And I now have visibility and control of the internet use. I did find the initial installation tricky as theres a step you may need to take that's not listed in the instructions. It wasn't connecting with the internet, which I fixed by going into the advanced settings and selecting New Zealand. This is brilliant, much better than my old router. I’m stoked with this purchase after about three weeks. Did exactly what I needed, extending Wifi to a large two storey house; speed is better than directly off our router provided by telco.
