Windows 10 pro is something that you should probably justify to yourself before you buy it. Whats the advantages over home edition anyway? Well, if you're someone that does programming or creative work, you might need some of the benefits pro offers (I did). But if its just to play games, do word and excel spreadsheets etc, or some other basic stuff, then I think there is little reason to need this version over home edition. Also: if you swap out your motherboard at any point you will need your license key that you get when you purchase this, so hang on to that. Otherwise you will have to buy windows all over again. I just wanted a Windows 10 instance that I could run on ESXi and attach to my home DMZ for testing purposes. I was a bit worried that I'd buy a license and get half way through the install and then run into some Microsoft limitation on running the edition I had brought virtualised. No such issues with this version. It installed on Esxi fine, activated without any issues and cost a little less than buying Windows 10 Professional 64 bit through he MS store. Was going to use Windows 11 on my new pc build, however heard from friends online about compatibility issues with some software that I will probably be using as well so chose to downgrade back to Windows 10. Unfortunately my original copy of W10 went out to the rubbish tip on the back of my old laptop... Would be nice if PC Manufacturers would put the licence sticker in the Windows booklet instead of sticking it to the PC. I guess this is Gate's way of making everyone pay for a new copy of Windows everytime they throw out their old PC... Same situation here... perfectly good W10 on the laptop, but old and failing HDD, so upgraded to a whole new PC. Could have put the W10 on there if I had realised in advance I would be staying with that OS instead of W11.

Installed from start-up from DVD, not within windows previously installed on PC, had to delete partitions and reformate drives prier to installing. Otherwise installed seamlessly.
After completing all updates, the upgrade to windows 11 showed that the PC cannot update. So it was a good thing going to windows 10 first.
Cons: the scratchy thingy to see the serial number, I ended up taking a micro-photo as the outline of where you scratch the inside covered numbers.
