Great Camera

I had a compact automatic camera with limited manual functions and I am very happy I have moved up to the GX7 camera - which isn't too intimidating or cumbersome. It is easy to carry about, light enough to hold steady with the nice grip, and has a lot of manual options for more creative photos as well as useful automatic settings. Worth taking the time to read the manual and play with all the options. It isn't a DSLR by any means, the lens can't be changed, zoom is 4x optical then uses digital to get closer (but it is 20MP which is excellent) and the Macro setting is really a "close-up" setting. Have had the camera 2 weeks, I think the...view more

Good camera overall, albeit expensive.

Pros:
- Generally good image quality and easy to use.
- Small and comfortable to hold, the grip on the right side feels good (if you are right handed).
- The LCD screen is big and bright, can be seen in bright sunlight (though you have to turn up the brightness), also you can change the angle of it.
- Has MANY shooting options, even a mode for taking star trails. You can also go full manual if you want to.
- Good battery life. Easily lasts a day or two of shooting.
- You can charge the battery with a micro USB cable, no need to take it out.
- Fast transfer of pictures via wifi.
- Excellent at ...view more

Absolutely superb pocket camera

Cell phones aren't quite there yet, and a DSLR is often too big to carry (or too intimidating for your subjects). I bought this over a year ago and it's been used so much in the time between, due to the ease at which it delivers fantastic looking photos. Also very easy to transfer photos wirelessly to a phone so you can post them on facebook! :-)
