Apple AirPods Pro 2 True Wireless In-Ear Headphones with MagSafe Charging Case (USB-C)

To be honest I wasn’t sure that purchasing these would be worth the substantial cost. The first generation Pro’s were already amazing and something I used on a daily basis, so I wasn’t sure how much of an improvement the 2nd Gen would be. Boy was I wrong. The noise cancellation is remarkably better, and the improvement in audio quality makes music sound full and vibrant. The case and each AirPod having Find My capability is an added bonus too. I have many sets of headphones. Beats over ear noise cancelling through to their in ear types. This is my first set of apple AirPods and wow these are absolutely amazing. The noise cancellation and base are just as good as my over ear beats.

I specifically bought these for the new hearing aid feature, so I'll concentrate on that: when used with the latest Mac OS or iOS, the software will test the fit of your Airpods and then conduct a hearing test. As I had suspected, my test found a -36 dB loss in one of my ears and -38 in the other. This is classified as "mild" and can easily be rectified by the Airpods. Now I'm no longer asking my wife to repeat everything she says, or cranking up the TV sound to Eden Park levels so I can follow the dialogue. The Airpods automatically use the audiogram produced by my test to correct the environmental sounds around me. And, of course, if I use Spotify on my iPhone or YouTube on my iMac, the pods automatically connect via bluetooth and alter the media sound based on my personal audiogram. Sweet.

What's not to like? When used in hearing aid mode, the rechargeable batteries last about six hours. So if you want to wear them as hearing aids most of the time, you will need to take every opportunity to recharge, eg, when you're having a shower. I would have awarded these a five-star rating if they could only go 12 or 18 hours without a boost. And, as with all Apple products, these work seamlessly and effortlessly as long as you stay within the Apple universe. If you want to use them with other manufacturer's devices, I would guess not so much.

Even so, I predict these will do for audiology something akin to what SpecSavers did to optometry or Chemist Warehouse did to your local pharmacy. For better or worse, they are true disruptors.

I got the AirPods Pro 2s just out of ease of use with my IPhone. They are absolutely great and I love them. They would be my second choice tho if it came to sound. For everything else ie. Features and build quality they are #1 for sure and definitely more worth than the gen 1 pros. There are just some earbuds with better sound but not a biggy because overall the AirPods outshine them. Upgraded my AirPods since recently purchasing the iPhone 16 and it’s totally worth it! Price and features to enhance the user experience was a great decision. Don't get me wrong, these sound great and the mic quality is okay for meetings, however, these fall out of my ears all the time. I've tried all the bud sizes and I cannot get a perfect fit.
