OPPO A54s (2021) Dual SIM Smartphone - 4GB+128GB - Crystal Black

I had another OPPO phone before for a few years, but needed to buy a new phone and decided to try out Samsung. Constant issues demanded that I buy another phone within months and OPPO was, ultimately, a no-brainer. And I think this is a great phone, and far superior to competitors of a similar price. You get more ram and memory, so having lots of apps don't crash the system.
I've had zero problems so far (3 months), whereas the (1 year old) galaxy I had was always failing or screen breaking, right from the second day of ownership.
Oppo comes with a transparent case and even without, is not as slippy.
Only downside is keyboard doesn't display numbers with letters, it's an extra click to go to number keyboard.
The media volume goes louder than the Samsung too, and screen bigger, whilst unit is lighter and thinner (than sgalaxy of equivalent price)

The camera is shocking and the lag is real. However, for the price, it does what it should. My biggest complaint is when this phone is on DND mode, it wont recieve or make calls. It's a known fault with the phone and therefore cannot be used. Just have to change to silent when you go to bed. I wouldnt recommend. I should have upgraded slightly. Within days of using this, I put it on do not disturb. This malfunctions the phone. Once sorted, all good. A year on however and now the battery dies after a day. Used to last 2. So amazing for the first 12 months. The processor slowed right down after only 6 months and it constantly freezes and goes black. No response available. I have lost all pics due to having a hard reset last week. Learnt lesson and now have a cloud backup. Photos are terrible and always have been. Lighting is way off. Will not be purchasing again. I have been using this phone for 4 months.

The phone's specs are magnificent considering its low price. However, the screen will occasionally freeze for a second or two when running games such as Clash Mini or Raid Shadow Legends. In spite of this, the phone is generally functional and very solid. It has a long battery life and is quick to charge.

My biggest issue: The fingerprint scanner works well but it is on the on/off button, so sometimes when I go to click the on/off button to see my lock screen and check the time, my phone will unlock and take me to the home screen or password screen which can be slightly irritating. I had an Oppo AX7 for a few years, but from constant use its begun to wear out, so I had to go buy myself a new phone, the oppo a54s is an upgrade in every way when it comes to the specs, yet somehow it runs extremely poorly, the touchscreen freezes sometimes and doesn't detect input, the fingerprint scanner is worse, the thing operates pretty slowly from time to time and the music app is the most frustrating downgrade i have ever had to deal with. Id go back to using my AX7, but unfortunately i cant charge it anymore.

Its a good starter phone, but don't expect it to be amazing

- Its a good size for the phone
- The Camera is the only good thing I can really say that it has an advantage over the ax7, its a really good camera
- Screen resolution and colour is really good
- Lots of customizability

Cons
- Fingerprint scanner is terrible
- Touchscreen doesn't detect input sometimes
- Runs slowly pretty often
- Music app is awful

Excellent value. You probably can't do better for this price. The battery is insane. 2 days with very high usage. However, I must admit the first hurdle was DNS. It led to all kinds of issues. Do not turn on this feature, ever, if you purchase. Second is the lag. It's bad. I can't have any photos or videos on the phone. Third is the cameras. Absolutely the worst. Forth is the keyboard- however I downloaded the Google floating keyboard. Much better. Highly recommend for price. Still better than a iPhone. Great for child first phone Excellent value.
