Some find it tough to use and get used to, but the advantages of using this track ball for daily work if you are a heavy mouse user are huge. I use it for CAD work and it allows my hand to remain in a natural un-cramped state. All the tension and hand pain felt at the end of the day using a normal mouse is gone, also I find the scroll wheel superior to an index finger scroll wheel and you can be a lot more accurate with a scroll ball when trying to select small entities. I bought my first Kensington Trackball back in the late 90s and have never looked back. It was great. My hand cramps disappeared after only a few days. Since then these trackballs have got better and better. I've owned about 7 of them over the last 25 years. The new ones last longer and are much easier to clean. You'll have seen a one star review on here. I'll bet money he just didn't realise he had to take the ball out every couple of weeks and blow out the dust underneath it (where the laser receiver is). No more lifting and swiping your mouse to turn fast (or doing the same to move a mouse pointer from one side of a 3-screen setup to the other). You just roll that ball, which is virtually effortless. Seems to be a fault on mine. The laser on the trackball seems to be clicking buttons as the ball rolls over the laser. Doesn't do it when the ball is removed. I have used Logitech trackball before.
The reason that I tried this mouse is that I have limited space on the desk for the usual type of mouse to move around.
Logitech trackball requires frequent usage of the thumb and requires a long time to get used to.
I am still on a learning curve of this new trackball and I must admit that it takes a long time. I have used Logitech trackball before.
