TP-Link Archer AX55 AX3000 Dual-Band Wi-Fi 6 Gigabit Router

This is an excellent very capable router with good coverage and great data flow capabilities. That said at the time of this writing (Mar 2022) there are no specific ISP settings for this model on PBTech’s router settings page for TP-Links, so I will make some comments to help. But before doing so in terms of performance, I’m in a 2 bedroom unit with a third room for storage (all one level). The fibre box at one end with office at opposite end. But before doing so in terms of performance, I’m in a 2 bedroom unit with a third room for storage (all one level). The fibre box at one end with office at opposite end. I located the router next to fibre box and tested connections at opposite end of house. iPad good enough but laptop/compact PC poor (about 10% capacity of a 100/300 fibre connection) so perhaps weaker antenna in those. So bought a 20m Cat6 Ethernet cable and moved the router to centre of house. Speeds are now excellent in all areas, typically between 70% to 90% , sometimes 100% capable speeds. Very impressed! No mesh required!! Router feeds connections to devices intelligently too so drop offs rare unlike some other lesser routers I’ve used. For settings, Google ‘pbtech tp-link router settings’ for the setup page you need. For fibre I used the Archer C3150 at end of the pbtech page which was close enough match for ‘Advanced’ settings for this router on Vodafone NZ plan, but make sure you complete step 2 before internet connection will come live.

We replaced out standard ISP router with this one and we now no longer need an additional device to extend the wifi around the house. Wifi speed increased 5x over the standard router. Thanks for the review below - we had trouble setting up, and saw the review to which said to use C3150 set up config from PB Tech TPlink manual helped us! Now speed & coverage of our wifi is much better. I bought this router in Dec 23 after reading everyone on this site’s reviews and it looked good. I’ve now had this router for 3 months and all i can say is, stay away. After the first month i started experiencing the internet dropping. The wifi is still connected, but the internet keeps timing out. So to fix this, you either need to restart the router (and this only fixes the problem for an hour or so) or you have to disconnect the wifi from your device, leave it off for a couple of minutes and then reconnect. But again, this only fixes it for a couple of minutes. Purchased approx a month ago. Easy to install once you changed to NZ settings as per PB web site instructions. Wifi coverage good. Have had no issues with this router. Would recommend. This was certainly a considerable upgrade from my ISP's device. Wireless is smoother, and even the wired network seems more reliable. It automatically negotiates using 5G or 2.4G without your devices requiring two independent logins. I notice that I get reliable connections even if the signal strength meter is low when I'm down the back yard or in the shed. Finally, 5G is actually usable! After a few weeks use I think it is good value. Setup was easy too, and the web interface is good. This was certainly a considerable upgrade from my ISP's device. This router is working really well now but it took me ages to set up. Do not miss the " which country are you in?" step and use the website rather than the "Tether" app. Now its up and running I am pleased with the performance. My new ISP provided Router was performing quite poorly despite a Fibre connection, after researching a few options I purchased this TP Link Router. Very pleased, set up did require a few settings changed which I found was best done by using a web browser rather than the app, but that was an option listed in the instructions, and I could find those settings required on my ISP's website, and overall it was actually easier than I expected based on previous experiences years ago.
