Replacement Scooter Solid Tyre

This is a good tyre better than having to check tyre pressure and getting a flat tyre with the normal pneumatic tyres. To install the new tyre it is simple, soak the tyre in boiling water for 10 mins, take the tyre out and put it inside the microwave for 1 min additional. The tyre will be soft enough now to apply force to fit it perfectly. Trust me, I am a kiwi bloke and this is the way to do it easily. Very well made, putting on can be challenging, soak in v hot water for 10 minutes, used liquid soap to lubricate and strong 20" tyre levers. These are great and definitely eliminate punctures. The ride is significantly "harder" than on the pneumatic tyres I replaced, but I guess that is to be expected. As others have said, they are hard to put on. What I found worked best was to grab a quick-clamp and clamp the tyre to the rim once I got the tyre started on the rim. Then, I grabbed two large screw drivers and peeled the tyre onto the rim by working my way around the tyre, inserting the screw drivers into the small holes around the tyre, and leavering it on. I was hesitant to purchase solid tyres at first. I had heard that the speed of your scooter could decrease and that the ride wasn't as nice but, honestly, the difference in comfort is negligible and, if use custom firmware to increase your top speed (literally takes 2mins via an app) it more than compensates for it. Unfortunately, the rear tyre of my Mi electric scooters had flat after flat and I am not the only owner finding this to be the case. This solid rubber tyre is a great solution. The holes in the solid rubber (see photos) mean the ride is not as bumpy as a true solid rubber tyre, but not quite as smooth as the inflated tube and tyre combo. I had this installed by my local bicycle shop because this is not so easy to do. These tires for sure are saving you money. But the air-filled tires provide much better ride. Meaning, these do not absorb shocks from the surface. All that shock force is absorbed into your whole body, especially your knees. In the long term it is not healthy too ride with solid tires because it is same as running barefoot on concrete. I have had multiple knee pain after riding frequently (consistently for 1 month) and I'm 19 years old. When I stopped, the pain went away, ruins the fun. I'm buying shock absorbers for my MI m365. Nearly tore my hair out getting it on but now that it's on it's perfect. The ride is a little harder than with a tube tyre but I'll take that over replacing the tube when i get a puncture.

Wrap a cable tie around the tyre and through the now empty tyre valve stem hole, locks one side of the tyre on the rim so there are less places it can slip off.
Use screwdriver as lever to seat the tyre properly once it's over the rim.
