Kobo Clara 2E e-Reader - 6" 1448 x 1072 16GB - Black

This is my first ereader, and I am absolutely in love with it. Kobo allows you to borrow books from Auckland library via Overdrive, which is a definite selling point for me. The kobo store also features a range of books to buy if you prefer that instead. Battery life is good, as I have finished a book and a half without needing to charge so far. Some cons in my experience are: some buttons are in the far corner of the screen and thus are hard to press (e.g., X button to close), a slight lag when interacting with the reader, Overdrive doesn't feature as many categories on my Kobo as it does on my phone/computer. the Kobo Clara 2E has a good clear screen, a comfortable size and the lighting is good, especially the night light option. I have had it less than a month and am still getting used to it but find it rather slow to boot up and also to respond to the page turn swipe. I love this e-reader. It’s great how it links up with the libraries One Drive, makes it so easy to borrow books, something that other e-reader brands don’t offer. It’s also the perfect size to fit in my handbag. I love this e-reader. Bought the Kobo as a first foray into e-ink tablets and was not disappointed. The Clara has plenty of memory and a good backlight, and was relatively easy to modify to work with our e-book library at home. A couple of small cautions; it doesn't come with a cover, and it isn't compatible with older version of calibre - expect to upgrade to get it working. Perfect size that is just big enough to cause as little eye strain as possible. It's lightweight and waterproof making it perfect for travel. The kobo bookstore on average is cheaper than the kindle bookstore. What's more is it's partially made out of recycled ocean plastics. Recent convert to the world of e-readers and love the Clara. Very quick and easy to set up and usability is first class. Interface with Auckland Libraries is brilliant. Small 6" reader but very light in the hand and great screen quality. A little sluggish in response sometimes but that doesn't detract from the reading experience. I've enjoyed using my Kobo e-Reader for many years but it was starting to show its age, having become somewhat slow and unreliable, so I decided to upgrade to the latest model. PB Tech had the Clara 2E at an excellent price so I made the purchase and have been very happy with this new model. It is lightweight and comfortable to hold, the background light has color temperature adjustment so I can filter out blue light for night time use and has the updated USB-C charge socket to match my current charger cables. It keeps its charge for much longer than my old model and storage capacity is great.
