Xiaomi Redmi Watch 5 Active Smart Watch - Midnight Black

I started using Xiaomi watches last year and they've been great. I bought this watch as a gift for my wife but she said two inches looks too big on her wrist. (I'm talking about the watch guys lol) So she's taken my old watch while I've started using this one

I've used my new Xiaomi Redmi Watch 5 for over a week now and I'm impressed. The battery life is great. As of writing this review I'm down to 26% since day one on a full charge. Bluetooth calling and receiving works well. Notifications are accurate. Setup of the app is pretty straightforward

Easy to set up & connect to your phone, customizable watch face so all the data you care about it at the forefront, comfortable to wear as well. Charges very quickly, bit slow on the uptake for recognizing light exercise on its own, but great for everything else. Already looking at buying another one for my partner since seeing this one in action piqued their interest. Very basic similar to the watch 3 active. The most disappointment is the screen as the screen to body ratio is just ridiculous. Why Redmi launch a watch with thick plastic borders around the screen? I was on the fence about getting this product but I decided to give it a chance. It is just as good as the more well known brands. I like the camera feature and the sleep tracker. Unfortunately the step counting was about 40 to 60% under counted!
Checked it by loads of different uses & by counting in real time & also using another smart watch that counts very well.
I tried everything to get it to work including resetting, different wrist etc.

Very disappointed, but it does not claim to have GPS, it's just if you buy a fitness watch you expect it as standard. Yes the app can use GPS, but you must have you phone with you as it uses the phone GPS to record walking, hiking etc. I often train with no phone so the data is useless to me. PB Tech, maybe you highlighted in the model description/specs that is does NOT have GPS installed. Have returned for credit and will buy a Redmi Watch 3 or 4, both have in built GPS. Have owned Xiaomi/Mi watches for the last 7 years and would recommend them, reliable and reasonably priced. This product is affordable and great for adults that don't wanna spend alot, yet gain quality product with smart features for the children's daily wear. I bought this in the hopes of testing the concept of a smart watch, given I have a heavy duty job, 2 weeks in it is fairing well. It does most of what I'd like out of a smart watch, and has been pretty durable so far. Integration with my Samsung phone is not perfect, but pretty good.
