It seems HDMI to display port adapters are hard to find. PB Tech was the only place I could one in NZ. In stock, picked up following day and it's just what was needed and works perfectly. I purchased this with the hope that my VR headset (a HP Reverb G2) would work on my gaming laptop which didn't have a displayport. Windows recognised the device but no matter what wouldn't launch VR, giving a display cable error. Same issue when used on the desktop pc - which doesn't need the converter, and runs VR without it.

Now it DOES work perfectly fine with a regular monitor, so I won't be returning it. Lesson learned, when it's time to upgrade check the device has all the ports for your existing hardware.
