As for inputs: the AI-1's got both kinds.

The AI-1's single input is a NeutrikTM Combo Jack, which takes both a 3-pole XLR (common to most microphones) and a quarter-inch jack common to most electric instruments like guitar, bass et al. Layering tracks is as easy as plug in, set level and go.

The Complete Studio Kit comes with the R�DE NT1 studio condenser microphone, a shock mount, pop-shield, R�DE XLR cable and USB-C/A cables to transfer data from your AI-1 to your computer, and power - including 48V phantom power to your AI-1.

NT1 Cardioid Condenser Microphone (Microphone Only)

The NT1 Cardioid Condenser Microphone from RODE is a large-diaphragm cardioid condenser microphone that features RODE's HF6 1" capsule. The HF6 is designed to provide a detailed midrange response with smooth highs and warm bass. The capsule itself is seated in a Rycote Lyre internal shockmount to help reduce vibration and handling noises.

The microphone's electronics were designed from the ground-up for quiet performance, and allow the NT1 to have a low, 4.5 dB of self-noise. The body of the mic is machined from nickel-plated aluminum that is then coated in a ceramic layer that is electrostatically applied for a scratch-resistant finish. The NT1 includes the RM2 mic clip and has a 1-year limited warranty that extends to 10-years after registration with RODE.

SMR Advanced Shock Mount for Large Diaphragm Condenser Mics

The Rode SMR is a professional-grade shock mount for large diaphragm condenser mics. Featuring a double-Lyre suspension system, the SMR enhances Rycote's Lyre system by using a smaller inner Lyre to act as a tensioning element.

The SMR's removable all-metal pop filter provides an integrated solution for plosive protection, that is washable and designed to last as long as the shock mount and microphone. The SMR's clamping system design utilizes a large surface area, allowing for ample friction and weight handling, without the need for over-tightening of the locking thread. With the load distributed over a greater surface area, the clamping system is designed to better withstand the wear and tear of repeated use.

The SMR's frame is made from an engineering grade reinforced polymer. Vibration force is evenly distributed around the outer frame via the wide mounting rails, increasing the effectiveness of the Lyre system.
