This was just one out of six-or-seven different variations of adaptors and/or adaptor cables in my attempt to link a modern curved QHD 31.5" monitor to my legacy 2009 Mac Pro which had only one DVI Dual-Link, and one Mini DisplayPort, option to run a cable to the newly acquired monitor.

The test connection circumstances were not ideal as the new monitor was positioned in a temporary position after the FIRST attempted cable, a poor choice initially, failed. Many cable options failed completely, and I am uncertain just how well this product may have performed under more optimum test conditions unhampered by vision difficulties associated with multifocal spectacles and a close to the floor monitor location.
I finally solved my connection problem with the purchase of a replacement video card which included HDMI and (full size) DisplayPort connections.
