Bought this camera for my home office setup. While image quality is pretty good for the price you pay, the autofocus is just killing all the experience.
Camera would refocus every few seconds even when I am not moving, completely blurring out the image before focusing again. Not a very nice experience to say the least. Reading online it seems to be a common "bug" with all of these MS webcams, with only fix available is to switch to manual focus. So beware. Bought this camera for my home office setup. Pic quality is good enough, stand is easily adjustable on my monitor and cable is nice and long to allow for it to be wound through a monitor arm.

The auto focus and brightness control are a bit skittish though. About once a day getting very bright and then dark, or going in and out of focus for a second. When I needed a new one, I looked to MS again and found this which, to me looks like what's supposed to be the "current version" of the Studio and I just did not have a good time. Build quality overall is much lower, it lacks the physical lens protector cover, which I liked, and, this the deal breaker, when I was using it, it just seemed to never be able to maintain focus, desperately searching for it over and over.

Whether my specific one was indeed defective or this model has some serious degradation in quality, I can't really tell. Swapped it over on the second day for an entirely different model from Logitech, with which I'm quite happy (though I DID stretch to a more expensive range so, not "directly comparable")

Easy to use, plug and play. Used for broadcasting a full room on Google Meet. Microphone picks up voices from the far end of the room and camera angle is wide enough to give a full room view. Plugged it in to Linux and it worked better out of the box than most web cams, the exception so far was the raspberry pi thing I put together at the beginning of lock-down 2020ish. So what do you get manual and auto focus Yes yes ability to pan and tilt when using the lower resolutions, nice colour balance. under windows this thing was better though had some issues using OBS and other webcams. The field of view is nice and wide though not to wide with a sweet spot for focus whether it be auto or manual where everything out side of the field of focus naturally blurs out. This plug and play camera does everything claimed - and much better than I expected. The camera quality is excellent (better than the original built in camera I'm replacing) and the ability to move it around on top of my PC is often an advantage. I'm well pleased with my choice.
