I already had ARLO ULTRA with 3 Cams and this was an add-on.

This product is not just great add-on but itself is pretty sufficient.
The product does not require a base - but can use your home wifi.
And like all ARLO products, super easy to install.
Depending on the coverage, FHD definition will be sufficient enough to identify the number plate, faces and other details.

When you need more cameras and if higher end products are too expensive, getting more of these should be a great option. I already had ARLO ULTRA with 3 Cams and this was an add-on.

Have used it for over a month now and really impressed. Excellent quality picture day and night.
Convenient cloud recording and retrieval of footage.
The only inconvenience is having to recharge the battery but this can be overcome by purchasing a solar recharge kit. Have used it for over a month now and really impressed. Excellent quality picture day and night.

Very basic camera and bit overpriced

Very high quality, excellent quality picture. Easy installation and connection to wifi. Battery life is not great though (only lasts about two weeks). We have the arlo ultra at our home and that is great so we purchased this camera for our daughter. It just does not work and e have replaced it as we thought the first one had a fault but the second one doesn’t always work either even though the wifi is full strength and signal is perfect. An excellent product - this was installed as a stand-alone camera in an adjacent building, in addition to our existing Arlo Smarthub based system. Easy to set up on 2.4 Wifi - works well. I really recommend this as a camera to give you peace of mind. I don't think it would be the thing for serious surveillance, but if you want something so that you know that if the bad stuff happens, there'll be a record, this is excellent.

As with a lot of modern e-gear, installation out of the box is straightforward. However, I've found that a couple of times I've had a glitch (likely finger trouble, for all I know), and the easiest way to fix it is to reset the camera and reinstall from scratch. Trying to fix a malfunction (or even re-start it after the battery was exhausted) has got me confused between flashing LEDs on the camera and switches in the App. No point in saying RTFM, because TINFM (there is no manual).

Mostly, it's easy to put up, easy to get hooked up to the wifi, and it works. You have to pay the subscription after three months, but I think that's probably worth while (if you do need the pictures, you don't want to find that the SD card has been stolen or your local disk had got disconnected from your wifi). It's my first security camera, and I don't regret having bought it.

The Arlo Essential is good for looking at whos at the Door, Image Quality is limited to 5m if you want a Perfect Shot so its not suitable for Long Distance Recording

Camera works well. Identifies selected vehicles, people and animals. Important to identify your activity zones to ensure you don’t capture people walking past your home.
Battery only lasts less than a month when left on 24/7.
