AMD Ryzen 7 5700X CPU

Great CPU to upgrade to if you're already on the AM4 platform to extend the lifespan of your system.

Fit my needs as I do productivity and gaming on my PC.

Very power-efficient CPU, so I could keep my 600w PSU (using together with an RTX 3070), which also means a budget air cooler is enough to keep it cool.
Something like a DeepCool AK400 already works great.

Harder to recommend for new PC builds (unless you're looking for a very power-efficient CPU) as Intel offerings are very competitive, and next-gen CPUs are also coming later this year. Great CPU to upgrade to if you're already on the AM4 platform to extend the lifespan of your system.

Good cpu for the price, performs like a 5800x once pbo is enabled in bios.

Great processor. Works as intended.
Just remember to get an AM4 cooler as one is not included in the box.

Buy this instead of the 5600x, its pretty much the same cpu but with 2 extra cores, plenty of performance for a 65w cpu. The ryzen 5000 series marks the end for the am4 socket, so getting this cpu will hold up better until its time for upgrade 3-5 years down the line. Temps easily kept undercontrol with a basic $50 tower cooler. Buy this instead of the 5600x, its pretty much the same cpu but with 2 extra cores, plenty of performance for a 65w cpu. I upgraded from a Ryzen 2700X that I've used since 2018, after an emergency need for replacement. The 2700X has been perfect for my heavy audio production work and I've have never upgraded otherwise because it still holds its own. This thing though, blows the 2700X out of the water, and I've encountered exponential gains in both game framerate, and audio render time. I have this paired with a Noctua NH-D15 and I've found this to be the best 1-2 knockout purchase I've ever made regarding PC parts. performance is unreal for the price, huge overhead with 16 threads. runs very cool at only 48 degrees on average under full gaming load.
