It certainly works!
I jumped from a 500gb 960 Evo to this 1Tb 990 Evo! the increase in performance is amazing! much faster system load times across the board and the two games I installed on this drive particularly!
If you need to replace something older than a 980 or similar or SATA SSD - and need high performance this is the M.2 SSD for you.

Had this installed for starfield game.
In now days the games wouldn’t run on HDD.
This SDD was fast and reliable so far.
Easily detected on windows.
No heavy grinding done but so far, it is a fast and reliable M2 SSD. If you are looking to upgrade, start with this and when you upgrade CPU or mobo, take it with you.
Your windows boot up will be a lot faster but I am using it only for the games and I am happy.

New M2 stick for my computer
I had to pull my computer apart to get this installed so was a good chance to get all the dust that had built up over the years.
Easy to install - take pictures of all the cables so you know how to put them back.
Drive did not show up untill I dug into the system and assigned a drive letter to the drive.
Do a search on Disk Management if you need to learn about this.
It has been a great addition to my computer, I now have 913Gigs of storage

Reliable (but not improved) performance
This is my 5th Samsung SSD, and all are still going strong and performing as they did when new - the same can't be said for other SSD brands I've tried!
Unfortunately, performance is effectively identical to my previous 960 EVO, so it's a shame to see that technological improvements have effectively ceased.
