I've been using this JetDrive for a few weeks now (and have used a previous version a few years ago) and overall they work great. A simple, unobtrusive way of carrying an extra disk (or Time Machine backup) with you. It's, of course, slower than a regular HDD or SSD, but certainly fast enough for most purposes.
It can be a bit difficult to remove since it sits very flush in the card slot, but with long nails or a pair of tweezers it's not too hard. Usually you'll leave it in anyway - unless you're a photographer that needs that port all the time for "real" memory cards, in which case it's probably not recommended.

The only problem I have found - and I remember having the same issue years ago - is that it spontaneously unmounts from time to time (usually when the laptop has been in sleep mode for a while) and then only a restart seems to mount the disk again. Even Disk Utility cannot mount it when that happens - just restart.
