Razer Barracuda X Wireless Multi-Platform Gaming Headset

My old Astro A50 was falling apart (owned for 6 years) so decided to grab this one as a replacement.
I mostly use the headset on PC for work, movies, music and gaming so I'll usually be on them for a while.
Have owned for a day, but I did some extensive testing.
Base headset audio quality is not that great and there's no default EQ app with the headset.
Even the 7.1 surround sound wasn't that great either.
I found out that to get any EQ functionality on PC, you need to pay for and download THX Spactial Audio from Razer.

Bass can be louder than the audio and that can throw you off if playing games where you use audio cues a lot.
Now that I have THX Spactial Audio, the audio quality is really good.
Honestly, if the headset shipped with this software, the headset would be amazing.
If I get the option though, I'd love to go back to the Astro A50's, but price wise, this is a pretty good option.

The USB-C dongle is not straight out, its 35mm wide so it covers the ports left and right of it. It's very annoying. If I'd known about that I would have gone with a different model.
Sound quality is fine, but the microphone weirdly sensitive to ambient sounds. In recordings the sounds of birds tweeting outside get recorded over my voice. Sound is bassy with good drivers for good boom.

I'm very impressed, it's light, comfortable and the sound quality is nice. I did lots of research and the amount of options in this price range is crazy. It has really good noise isolation, which is something I was wanting.

There is a known problem with the in game mic, it does not work very well and people in game cannot hear you or you come across as very quiet. only works on discord with settings set to max and other users as well and even then its very quiet. other wise works well just not good for team work and communications. I like this headset it’s really comfy on the head. But after about 2-3 months I’ve noticed that the on and off button got jammed this is my second pair of the same headset due to the same issue. Very good headset, comfortable, and great audio. Not an issue, but it does not use bluetooth, instead a wireless plug. This means I cannot use it for my IPhone, but still a worthwhile purchase. It could be my own realtek audio drivers or something else in the house interfering with the wireless bluetooth connection i'm not too sure. This headsets wireless functionality is really hit or miss, I've seen so many people online having problems with the dongle - having the device not being able to read the dongle when it is connected. The wired functionality works fine but the wireless one doesn't. It's pretty 50/50 to be honest. You would be better off saving money for a better, more durable and optimized wireless gaming headset.
