I purchased this Wacom product for use with visual effects and illustrative software (Maya, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc) and has been brilliant for use with all of them. It takes some time to properly set up the buttons and pen with each respective program to your liking but once you do it really helps productivity and I can't think of going back to a mouse. Build quality is also great, no issues to be found. The medium is still quite large - I think the large version would take up most of your desk space and isn't necessary for most users. I'm happy with the medium size to work with my two monitors. Bought this as my first drawing tablet and this hasn't disappointed me yet. Lots of expresskeys and the touch ring prove I made the right choice and is worth it for the price. I had been using a Intuos small with my 13” MacBook Pro however when I bought a 27” monitor the small was too touchy for the large screen. This one is great, good functionally and the additional hot keys are very handy. I recommend this for anyone editing photos etc in a large monitor, even using your laptop as a dual screen its great. This was a purchase for my son and it has proved to be an excellent drawing tablet. He has already learned many of the functions and has produced his first static drawing and is planning an animation. The table is easy to use and the accompanying software is good. The decision to go with the A4 form factor was definitely worth while and the more advanced features of the pro version in comparison to the non-pro types has made this a very good purchase. This was a purchase for my son and it has proved to be an excellent drawing tablet. Does everything a mouse does with a great deal more control. Works very well for me as I am left handed but use a mouse conventionally.
Very goog for drawing around things.
Does take up a fair bit of desk space. Takes some practice to use well. Need to persevere.

They really improved the form factor and build quality feels much better than previous models. However, windows 10 and wacom drivers don't play nice together, often resulting in loss of tablet pressure, e.g. using middle click using the pen in a browser immediately crashes the driver. The touch and circle controls are laggy and the palm rejection leaves much to be desired just like previous models and physical controls would be better. The buttons are nice, especially for a lefty who can't manage keyboard shortcuts with they're right hand. And at least they added a dedicated button to turn off touch.... Wacom seem to be following apples model: the packaging is a work of art and the product beautiful but overpriced, all accessories enormously expensive with no 3rd party options available.
