OWC 16GB DDR4 Laptop RAM Kit

I ordered two 8GB memory boards. They arrived fast and well packed. The two memory boards fit in my iMac 27 and the system told me that memory was increased by 16GB. I ran a memory test with a positive result. The next day my computer crashed which hasn't happened before. A day later my customer database was corrupted. I had to restore this from a backup disk which took some time. On day three my Apple computer would not start at all. It started only after I removed the two memory boards. The system told me that a third-party product had been installed.

This could be a faulty memory board. It could also be that Apple deliberately let a computer crash when it detects third-party products, who knows? I now paid a much higher price for 2x 8GB genuine Apple approved memory boards, they work without a problem.

Going from 8GB (2 x 4GB pre-installed) to 32GB (4 x 8GB) the iMac increased it's speed and efficiency by a fair amount, given it has more breathing room for number crunching (not spending all it's time swapping from SDD to RAM) and 4 modules allowing you to access dual-channel speeds. Very easy install, solid brand (OWC), and great price.
