If you’re in the unifi universe this is a great piece of kit. Intuitive apps and it runs your cameras and network.

I'm so glad I spent the extra $$$ and went for the gen 2 plus, auto back up to micro SD and the battery back up were the features that sold me on this model. Not cheap but worth every cent for peace of mind. Unit was easy to set up, but I cheated and started from scratch. Unit is typical Ubiquiti build quality, solid and seamless. It is both the Unifi Management Software, and Unifi's latest effort at video recording in their app called 'Unifi Protect'. It runs both software simultaneously, so you can manage your switches/wifi, and also have your cameras recording to the Unifi protect software. Protect seems to be their way forward - as they move away from Unifi Video. Simple install, and easy to use if you have a bit of tech understanding. This is a great product, plug and play simplifying access to the management of Unifi switch and AP's. Also great at managing the upgrades of the Unifi products on the network. Bonus is the 1tb Hard Dist that comes with if for recording remote camera sessions. Not essential for the network buy makes life a lot easier when managing multiple Unifi products. Ubiquiti is the only company that offers a single controlling mechanism across all its devices from a common dashboard. Cloudkey Gen2 plus is what makes this happen. Easy to setup and get going. Its a computer in its own right. Been using it for a few weeks now and have not regretted my decision to go with ubiquiti.
