Unlike other dock stations e.g Belkin's, this one uses DisplayLink, a cheaper solution that needs additional driver. Aparrently on BigSur (mac), there was severe lagging isssue and CPU cosuming issue (you don't want your laptop running hot just to work the display do you?)

It doesn't seem DisplayLink will fix the issue and keep their software up-to-date.

Product is great - it's helped me to connect 2 more screens to my laptop as well as being able to still stay connected via wired internet, and USB keyboard and mouse! Zero hassle - does the job perfectly! There was a number of different versions of the Targus Docking Stations which made me wonder if they were a quantity vs quality type of brand. I had purchased 2 USB cheaper versions of this hub and both very problematic. This is amazing. Highly recommended, only wished I had purchased it earlier, would have saved me heaps of headaches. I finally set up my workspace at home and purchased this docking station as part of that setup. Super easy to install, worked great from day one and now my work from home days are so much easier. Its more than just about the purchase price. The price is fair enough although I wouldn't spend more than what I did for it. However, the advice I received as well as the store assistant's ability and willingness to setup the hub using my laptop with 2x of the stores monitors led me to buying the monitors as well. It was easy to set up in my office and will not hesitate to get another setup for my next workstation from this salesperson.
The hub does more than I need and the video output alongside those monitors is so good. My IT guy didn't have any trouble either setting up our intranet and sound system to it. I can literally switch a single cable and my whole setup - 2 monitors, power, headset, external keyboard and mouse switch over to the other laptop. Very easy to setup.
