Unlike other dock stations e.g Belkin's, this one uses DisplayLink, a cheaper solution that needs additional driver. Aparrently on BigSur (mac), there was severe lagging isssue and CPU cosuming issue (you don't want your laptop running hot just to work the display do you?)

It doesn't seem DisplayLink will fix the issue and keep their software up-to-date.

I have bought several of these for our office, I love that it not too bulky and looks nice. It also has both USB-A and USB-C connection which works perfectly for out different devices. Works better on my Lenovo (Win11) laptop than the Lenovo dock. In particular, this works well on the thunderbolt port, whereas the Lenovo one would only work on the USB-C port. Runs my 32" widescreen (Samsung) 4k monitor @ 100Hz well. Has all the connectivity I need and works through my 4K KVM switch without any problems. Think I'll probably buy another one. Using with a Lenovo laptop, everytime the laptop goes to sleep, when it wakes up the external monitors/mouse connected via this dock do not operate until the USB is unplugged and reconnected. The button doesn't help. Otherwise when it's working it's fine.
