The speed of the card is fast and can be updated in the future as the receiver (same as many laptops) can be replaced with a newer model if required.

I bought the GC-WBAX200 and later found that it my motherboard cant have a graphics card and wireless adapter in at the same time, (who designs a motherboard that makes you choose) anyway, my brother-in-law install one in his PC and cant stop bragging about how great it is. For the love of god don't spend a little money on a network adaptor, this thing picks up my neighbours internet better than my old T-Link adaptor picked up MY internet. The price is right for the signal speed you deserve. WiFi was just plug and play for me. Works great.

My only note is you should verify that you have the right usb header available if you want to use the Bluetooth, since it connects separately. WiFi was just plug and play for me. Works great.

At the end of the day when it comes to your desktop, if you can avoid wireless, do it. Plug it directly into your router. Wifi, no matter how optimised in throughput is just not efficient. However, I have a setup that prevents me from being able to run a cable to the router so this is absolutely perfect for me. It does its job and does it very well, and the bluetooth is a very nice touch.

However it was just a matter of finding the unrecognised device within the Device Manager, and upgrading the driver that way once it was connected to the internet, and it hopped to life.

My BT headphones work a treat with it, and it has a surprising amount of range. If you're going through multiple walls it'll cut out, but that's fairly normal. Bluetooth even worked with my PS4 controller! It was a delight to see that working.

The wifi is AC, and does seem to give me pretty decent speeds on my fibre connection though I haven't done a benchmark yet. Downloading The Witness through steam took maybe 10 -15 minutes though.

Pros:
-Easy to install, compact with little impact on case real estate
-Nice and quick, good range, impressive bluetooth. Good throughput for wireless.
-Easy on the wallet, nothing too expensive if looking for a decent wifi adapter.
-External Aerial has a magnetic base allowing for attachment to the case.

Cons:
-External aerial is a bit ugly and bulky, would have preferred something more attached that can screw into the case (though I'm sure one could buy proprietary aerials to accomplish the same thing, just a shame they don't come with)
-Tricky driver setup. Comes with the CD to install, but without a DVD drive can be a bit annoying to have to find them online and get them onto your PC through external means - would have preferred they included a cheapo usb stick or something with it maybe (could be I'm expecting too much?)
-Bluetooth doesn't seem to work immediately with driver, doesn't recognise the hardware immediately, have to use Device Manager to get the hardware properly recognised.

OK, this is product oriented to desk computer. You an see that it wont fit on the low profile machines.
Works really good. It is hard to express, but you get the same speed that connected to fiber with the ethernet cable. It is really fast, and you will totally love it. Also, once you install, you can plug an extra into your mother to get the Bluetooth working, that also works like a charm.
Honestly, I just regret not buying this before. It is affordable, and I will probably get another one and reduce on cables around the house.

Ended up leaving it in a cupboard for a while until I upgraded to Windows 10. Plugged it in, installed the drivers (will either need a CD-drive or internet connection) and it was good to go straight off the bat.
