Meet the new BBC micro:bit v2 - Upgraded with a powerful new processor that has tons more capability and also adds more sensing with a new speaker and microphone!

The latest micro:bit will fit right into your existing lessons and materials; all the existing MakeCode blocks and MicroPython code will work in the same way as they do on the original micro:bit. More features, including easy ways to take AI and ML into the classroom, will be released throughout 2021.

Some new features of the board:

 - A more powerful Nordic nRF52833 processor, lots more RAM and Flash so MicroPython works a lot better!
 - A MEMS microphone, can hear the world around it
 - A speaker, provide audio feedback, play tones
 - Capacitive touch sensor, the logo now acts as a button you can boop!
 - Power saving mode, double click the reset button to enter low power mode.

Great product

My Micro:Bit arrived as expected and works just how I remember when I got to play around with one for the first time! Love the ease of being able to connect the battery pack to the back of the board when not using it wired to a computer.

Great functionality; easy to use, except connector sockets are tight.

The microbit works well, with useful onboard sensors and I/O (e.g. includes onboard microphone and speaker in the v2 microbit) and provides many options for project ideas.
Useful, easy wireless connectivity options.
The online instructions and support for coding are very good, with python and block-style ("MakeCode") code editing tools available in-browser. MakeCode is only available as an offline application for Windows and MacOS.
The board feels robust; however, the micro-usb socket and especially the battery connector socket are rather tight, and difficult for small hands (e.g. children) to connect and disconnect.

7 day right of exchange

If you change your mind after making a purchase, or realise you have ordered the incorrect item, you can enjoy the peace of mind that we offer a 7 day exchange policy.

To exchange a product, goods must be sealed / unopened, with packaging in original condition, and accompanied by a valid receipt dated no more than 7 calendar days from when you request an exchange.

If there is not a suitable product that can be exchanged for your returned item you will be offered a credit on your account or gift card based on the value paid at the time of purchase.
