Brilliant Smart Wi-Fi Garage Door Controller

The device’s ergonomics is just perfect. It doesn’t take a power socket, and where I have it, I only have one outlet which is used by the garage door opener. I wouldn’t have been able to plug it anywhere else or if it required a standalone socket. It’s also fairly compact. I don’t have much space between the socket and the opener: a larger device wouldn’t fit, but this one fits just fine. Installation is simple as ABC: just connected two wires where my wall switch was already connected.

There are two small issues I can think of. First is that the sensor’s battery only lasted for a few days, then the device was thinking that the door was permanently open. It took some poking around to determine what was the issue. The sensor requires a rather tiny screwdriver for replacing the battery. I didn’t have one at home, so I ordered a set and waiting for it to arrive before I can put a new battery. I’m sure the issue will be gone after that as who knows how old was the battery the device came with.

The other issue (and I’m being picky) is that you can’t tell Alexa “Open/close garage door”, you need to tell it to turn it on/off instead. A bit awkward, but understandable- it’s essentially a switch.

Overall great device! Highly recommend.

Easy and effective, once you get it working

Thanks heaps to previous reviewer highlighting the sensor battery died quickly - mine must have been sitting on the shelves for a long time as it didn’t work at all from the start - kept saying door was open even when closed. Changed the battery and now works perfectly. Easy and effective, once you get it working
