I needed a small and cost effective gigabit switch to hardwire all the devices in the entertainment unit in the lounge. One ethernet cable from the router to this switch and all the entertainment devices are now blazing quick. The fact that it's tiny and discrete in colour and aesthetic - not too many flashing lights etc. makes it ideal for this purpose. I have network switches at each end of the house, The TP Link works perfectly in the lounge where the Router is based, providing just enough Gigabit ports for my lounge network needs. It perfectly matched my requirements.
