Hauppauge UPC01535 HD PVR Rocket a portable HD video game recorder

This device was first released back in 2010. The latest firmware is 2015! For it's time I'm sure it was great but it only supports 30fps. Not suitable for today's games as the video comes out quite jumpy on high movement games. Not sure why they are still trying to flog this old device off. I only managed to get it recording from HDMI once - no matter what I did it wouldn't pick up the signal and when I used component the colours were completely messed up, like the cables had been plugged in incorrectly (which they weren't). It's a shame as when it did manage to pick up the HDMI signal (no idea why as when I turned it off and on again it would no longer work) the video was excellent quality.

Returned for a refund and I didn't want to risk another dud, so I've had to go for another brand. These are a great compact unit - easy to use. Easy to update. The only thing I didn't like was that the on board mic records the mic level with the video ... so that means you can't adjust it manually. If your game commentary is louder than the volume of the game, or not loud enough, you can't do anything about it. You can't even strip out the game audio and mic audio and adjust in a third party program.
