Xiaomi Watch 2 46mm Smart Watch - Black

There were a few teething issues when I first got this watch. It would reboot a lot. I think it was mostly due to updating itself and various apps that come preloaded. I then made the mistake of downloading and running everything all the time and found that the battery life wasn't holding up too well. When I took a more sensible approach and removed a few apps, and changed a few settings I now have constant monitoring for the health apps, and it lasts about 2 days on a full charge. In my experience Xiaomi watches always used to impress with excellent battery life, sadly this watch doesn't. I bought it on Black Friday sale mainly because it looks similar to the Xiaomi Watch S1, which sadly is not available (at least from PB Tech) anymore. The Watch 2 comes with Google Wear and a whole lot of useless gimmicks (due to small screen and mobile dependency) that seem to drain the battery in no time, hence the advertised battery life of up to 65 hours only. The Watch 2 comes with Google Wear and a whole lot of useless gimmicks (due to small screen and mobile dependency) that seem to drain the battery in no time, hence the advertised battery life of up to 65 hours only. I found that this can only be exceeded by having it permanently in flight mode, which gave me almost 4 days at the expense of limited functionality. The battery safer in the watch is absolutely useless, because the only effect I found it had was to randomly deactivate the adaptive screen brightness and set it to 10%, which means the screen is only visible in the dark but not in daylight conditions.
Within the 3 months I used the watch so far, it also went into a state of increased background activety twice (only visible through battery usage showing system apps with ~35%), which drained the battery completely within just 7 (!) hours and could only be resolved by a reboot.

So in summary, I would swap this watch against the Watch S1 anytime, as it comes with the similar features (those relevant for me, not Google Wear) and design, along with a much better and reliable battery life. At least I got the Watch 2 on sale for a good price, so I will make the best out of it and hopefully get a better product next time.

Yes, this watch does all I need from it. Accurate time, accurate heart rate monitor, also blood oxygen. I get notifications of incoming messages and e-mails (if I want those notifications) and I can use Google Wallet at my local supermarket. On the downside, although less important for me, the GPS is poor and the step count is unreliable (same walk in two days will give significantly different results). The sleep analysis is useless but I don't have any need of that either. It is lightweight although a little big for my thin wrists but the trade-off is that I can set the text to be large enough to see (almost) without reading glasses. EDIT: Forgot to mention that the 30 hour battery life reported by others is about right. That might be a deal-breaker for some.

Also I only got 30 hours use before needing to charge it again. I knew it would need charging more often than my present 7 day watch but thought it would last longer.

Better than I expected - very easy to set up and link with my phone. Perhaps a little large but that is the result of being used to a conventional watch. The battery does not last the hours quoted, some days it is flat before I go to bed. The screen is also soft plastic and has no edge to protect it so mine is badly scratched within 2 weeks. Overall I do not recommend this watch and wish I had instead bought the CMF by Nothing Watch Pro 2. My previous watch was a huawei watch gt which I had for years and it didn't have a single scratch. Very unimpressed with performance. Fitness tracker dodgey at best. Step count is hit and miss. After wearing it for nine hours it claims I've had 7mins of activity and stood up 3 times (I've done a 45 min walk and plenty of general pottering).

Bought for my son, good looking watch, seems robust. Lots of features, I'm somewhat jealous now. Comparing features with other watches of greater cost it seems to knock them out of the park.

Battery life is affected by use of apps. E.g. I have Huawei Band which lasts for over a week but it doesn't have apps and is just monitoring things. Where as my son is playing chess and other apps on the watch so it is lasting 3 days or so between charges. Bought for my son, good looking watch, seems robust. MI software is buggy and therefore it cannot integrate with google fit. Battery life seems to have diminished within few weeks. Also I couldnt load a google account associated with family link.

I bought it for the NFC -Google Wallet feature. A great price for the other standard Android features like Google maps,mobile calls & text messages, Spotify/YouTube music blue tooth, fitness tracker.
