I recently bought this scooter two weeks ago as I needed a faster transpo than a bike but a lot more cheaper than a regular car. The product is indeed fast and functions properly. It gives me a comfortable ride whenever I travel from home to school or work. The shock actually "shocked" me because compared to Lime, Beam, and Flamingo scooters around the city, the Ninebot ES4 has a better suspension system. The maximum range (45km) is also pretty decent as it allows me to travel back and forth between Riccarton and the City Center and still have half of my battery life remaining.

Overall, I would recommend you to buy this product if you want to have better transport with comfort and fun on the side as well. Its an excellent alternative to the city bus I would say and to a regular car for just getting around within Christchurch.

What a great purchase. The scooter is everything I expected and more. With 3 power modes and regenerative braking you can get almost anywhere and stop when you get there. I have added a seat to mine for a more relaxed cruise.In power mode it can climb pretty steep streets without having to push at all. I have only had it a few weeks but so far no cons. It fits in the car without folding down, either in the boot (wagon) or infront of the back seats. A bit harder to fold down with the seat but still possible. What a great purchase. Worth the extra money for a more top of the line portable e scooter. Great speed and battery range. Eats up any other rental scooter in Wellington. Cool lights. 3mm gap between accelerator and brake controls and grips.
- Tread on tyres wear out fast.

Superb. Claimed to do 25 - 30 kph. I am 85 kg and it does 30 kph on the flat no problem. It will even go up a hill with a 12% gradient, albeit at about 8-12kph. However, in order to achieve these speeds, you have to use Sport mode, which significantly reduces the battery life. Claimed distance on a single charge is 45 km. This looks to be accurate, in Standard mode. For me Standard mode has a maximum speed of 17 kph. In Sport mode, distance on a single charge is about 25 - 30 km. I have had this scooter for almost a month and so far it has been used every day, battery lasts us at least 2 days and is used as daily transport for work. I would recommend buying a bike lock as when scooter is turned off the locking system turns off aswell. Overall an awesome product and would definitely recommend!! There is a known flaw with this scooter. A lot of people including myself have had issues with the system board burning out. I have already had the system board replaced once and it is going back to the seller again on Monday for the same repair. The seller I bought from has stopped selling the ES4 as a result.

Apparently, the extra battery is placing too much strain on the system board. If you really want to buy this scooter, consider the ES2. Aside from this issue the ES4 is not a bad product. It’s only other downside is the lack of external brakes (eg disc brakes) which are now common on newer scooters. There is a known flaw with this scooter. A lot of people including myself have had issues with the system board burning out. I have already had the system board replaced once and it is going back to the seller again on Monday for the same repair. The seller I bought from has stopped selling the ES4 as a result.

Horrible out of box experience with the Segway ES4, the charger brick makes a crazy loud high pitch noise (like it ready to blow up) that everyone at home can hear though the house for 7 hours while on charge. And the worse issue the front wheel stem to handle bars are not aligned, the front wheel moves sloppily left and right (much like when you need to adjust a typical bike handle bars, and tighten the center nut) which ultimately means the steering it faulty, no way for the end user to adjust. Support was bad, I called pbtech twice now, first time I was put through to 3 different people, each time I had to re-explain the issues. I called less then a day later, said I will get a call back, no one called, after spending a large amount on scooters really disappointed with the level of service. I was told to just charge the scooter from the 3rd person, the first person said they would replace it, until the 2nd and 3rd person said nothing about it when I mentioned it. I charged the scooter as they had pressured me into (before using it), once charged I used it, then notice the front wheel move left and right on it own, so the when you turn the handle bars left right, the whole handle bars moves 3-4 cms before the front wheel even moves left or right, this is so dangerous, I can feel the lack of control, and this thing go 30 km/h, this is not safe.
