I've been putting off getting a 3d printer for over a decade, every year it was like they got cheaper and better. And when I say cheaper, they were limited to a select few printers that were not going to leave much change from 5k.

Josh at PB Manukau has been a great help, with advice and tips on how to do various things, what software to use ( tho the creality studio included does it all ) and where to get print files for almost anything you can think of. Careful tho, its a bit of a gateway drug, I want another one now.

I have had this printer for a while now and mostly seems OK for the price, has had a few hiccups along the way but for the most it seems pretty well plug and play for just over $400 NZ probably hence why there is no filament break detection. The only downside seems to be the information of product item codes and where to get consumables such as printer nozzles, pulley belts silicone heater block socks and other items that won't last forever, even asking the shop where i purchased from for spares seemed a waste of time and not much help with after sales service. Really hoping that I can find a product parts list somewhere but to date nothing. Overall great first printer but an expensive piece of kit that has to be put in the corner due to not being able to get replacement parts easily in the country. giving a score of 3 due to lack of availability of parts and does actually put me off buying the next model up until I know I can get all the parts needed to keep these machines working.

You will need to research about z-axis adjustment, filaments and temps, but it is all very basic stuff. Even my kids are using it! I have made 3D pieces from scratch now and only had it a week and they are turning out flawless. HIGHLY recommended, I did a lot of research before purchasing. First 3D printer I've ever purchased and I am beyond impressed. It is missing a few features that some of the more expensive options offer such as wifi/multicolor printing, but as an entry point it does everything necessary to make printing easy. It has its charms, but it does what it says - 3D prints and prints beautifully.
Many prints can just be downloaded straight to an SD card and you're good to go.

Easy to construct and easy to use 3D printer. Excellent choice for anyone starting out with 3D printing. Printer uses standard SD card slot to load files, or can be plugged in directly to computer via micro USB port (cable not included), I use the handy SD card reader that comes with it to transfer files from my computer to the card, the slicing software is also pretty intuitive to use and allows for full customization of models and printing settings. Highly recommended. The only weird thing about this was the allen keys they give you to assemble the printer make it difficult to rotate the screws nicely... they should be shorter. Really enjoying this printer, a good first step into 3D Printing. Quality is very good, and the price (was on special at the time) was good. Would lose quarter of a star for not having the ability to detect when a spool of filament ends, but that's pretty minor. Really enjoying this printer, a good first step into 3D Printing. My first printer, was dubious about the low cost. Great prints out of the box. 10 minutes assembly, auto bed level and I was away printing with the small roll of included filament. Still fine tuning for perfect prints, but even default settings were good for what I wanted. My first printer, was dubious about the low cost.
