PB tech's price was great for this item. The actual device works really well, but you have to have an iPhone or iPad to set it up. Supports multiple users. Correctly identifies different people based on learning their voices to integrate with their messages, schedules, etc. We bought it to be a Home Hub, and it performs that job out of the box (just make sure it's on the same network). Ever so slightly strong on the higher frequency sound, but after some of it's built-in automatic acoustic equalizer, it improves over time. It won't ever compare to Sonos speakers or the original homepod of course, but for small-to-medium sized rooms, it's great, particularly paired with an Apple TV hooked up to a sound system, you can Airplay 2 multiple devices and use the sound system for the bass and the homepod minis for the house-coverage.

It's impressive how well Siri can hear you over loud music or from other ends of the room. Sometimes this can be so good that a homepod in another room (with the door open) will pick up clearly what I'm asking for from a separate room!

A couple qualms I have:
- It still seems rather fickle, occasionally dropping off or cutting in and out, or struggling to disconnect with devices or ungroup/regroup devices get stuck
- Siri's quitest volume is still very loud, so not great in a bedroom with Siri turned on, blasting their voice in your ears as you're trying to relax

When using one, you'll be happy as it's a nice little speaker but if you can, buy two and use them as a stereo pair. This is when they shine! Sounds really great for music but also for videos/movies (audio's always in sync with the video). Wifi so no range issues like bluetooth, nothing worse than listening to something and someone else in the house walks off with the source device and out of bluetooth range. Quality is far better than bluetooth as well, naturally.

Proximity handoff is very nice too, just start playing something on your phone and hold it over the speaker and it auto transfers playback.
