Generally, the Kobo Libra 2 is a pretty average device. With a slow processor speed, generally, it feels quite sluggish. However, where it excels is in the format department. It opens <epub> files natively, and this is where it blows away the competition. This opens it up to a vastly larger range of books than its competitors. Pocket is very cool also, and a nice feature to have, if you, like me, find fascinating stuff on the web, and never have time to read it. Generally, the Kobo Libra 2 is a pretty average device. Big fan of this e-reader so far - I haven’t owned one previously, but love that Kobo can connect to Overdrive (unlike Kindle, where you have to buy every book you want to read). I was never going to get an Ereader as I love reading an actual book turning the pages. I succumbed and I am so glad I did. I love it. Have read 4 books since I got it. I have always been skeptical about an Ereader but after being away and reading on my phone I decided to get one. It takes a bit of getting used to but it’s great at night when hubby is asleep and I want to read, or when a child is in the room. My first Kobo after being a Kindle user for 10+ years. The Libre is a really nice premium ebook reader, solid build, and am really enjoying the larger screen size. I like that it has manually page turn buttons in addition to the touch screen interface (much prefer physical buttons). If you can afford the extra $'s I feel its well worth spending a bit more on this over the cheaper options, you get the larger screen, high res, auto adjusting brightness/dimming at night time, auto screen rotate depending on how you're holding it, and the UI responsiveness feels much quicker than the cheaper models. The Overdrive access to public libraries is great as well, a definite advantage over Kindles. The Kobo store is not as good as Amazon, so if you prefer to buy your books a Kindle might be better, but most mainstream books are available on the Kobo store. Also the multi-device management doesn't seem as good as the Kindle, haven't found where you can choose which device you can send a book to (if you have multiple Kobo's). The last disadvantage is that you can't wirelessly send your own DRM free ebooks/Docs/PDFs to the Kobo, you have to plug it into your PC and copy the files across. But if access to public library ebooks is important (and it should be) this is a great device!

Somehow I managed to get enrolled in a monthly subscription service, which on finding this out, I managed to unsubscribe, at least I hope I have.
I am now seriously reconsidering the purchase as it appears that to read books you need to be connected to Wifi which is not what I intended and understood an ereader was supposed to do.
I may of course be using it incorrectly and the device came with no instructions so very unclear where to go to from here.
Perhaps uncle Google will help, very disappointed.

Great little e-reader, easy on eyes and has me reading a lot more due to the convenience. Very smooth loading in comparison to other readers.
