Worked straight out of the box. You need to download free Elgato software to enable it but once this is done, the job is a breeze. Great solution to capturing home videos. Good value. Relatively easy to set up. You have to download software from website and that wasn’t too hard but not completely straight forward. I needed to download a couple of things to make it work. I also had to go to settings on my computer and “untick” some box to get it to work (I googled to find out that). As others have said if you have an old VHS player that you want to play a vhs tape in and then record into the cloud or your computer this little device definitely lets you do just that. I wouldn't consider this Elgato product cheap for what it contained, but then again I have used this product to copy some old family VHS video tapes to the Cloud, and this is priceless. If I had not done this then when my wife and I 'pop our clogs' these memories would have been lost forever. So , expensive, but probably the best quality in its field, and worth every cent! And at least PBTech had one available! So well done PBTech. Really intuitive to use, just plugged it in and it worked. Even used it on my Linux machine and used OBS to record some old VHS tapes. Well worth it if you have alot of tapes or old videos you want to digitize on to a hard drive. Video quality and Audio quality was good when doing the conversion.
