I have used several similar devices over the years but needed to update as my previous device was too old for Win 7 and above. Very pleased to find PBTech had one device available as I needed to capture some family videos that had been missed. Device installed easily under Win 7 and software is easy to use as it has a wizard interface. Software has a timing feature which means it will stop recording after a set amount of minutes - very handy as this means you can set and forget for long tapes. Capturing worked well, quality of captured movie is as good as any other USB device I have used previously. Can't fault it. Found an old vcr with s-video out on trademe. The picture quality and recording look great. It of course all depends on the video tape quality that was brought at the time. very simple software, but it works! would highly recommend. Can't fault it. The picture quality you get is grainy so it’s useless and expensive, you are better off buying a DV to FireWire 800 cable and go that rout.
