Unitek BF-810Y USB to Serial Adapter - 1.5m

This is the cable I had to purchase to use with the Garmin PC interface cable which has a 9 pin female plug. The USB to serial Converter ADPDNX0810 has a 9 pin male plug. Although both photos show the plug with holding screws they still join up OK.

This USB-RS232 actually gets the voltages correct, loads on everything including Raspbian and OSX, and costs less than some that don't get the proper RS232 levels. I can recommend this on both performance and price. Using this to communicate with a FPGA development board for a uni project during the lockdown. Plugged it in and it just works for USB to serial communication. Nothing much more to say i guess. I bought two of these USB to RS-232 converter cables. They plugged in and worked on both Windows 7 and Ubuntu Linux, as expected. In Windows I already had the correct drivers (Prolific) due to already having a similar device, and the Linux kernels have supported this chipset for a long time now. The cables were long enough for what I need. However, the reason I am only giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that on arrival, one of them was faulty - it would receive just fine, but would not transmit. PB Tech were efficient and helpful at replacing the faulty one, and the replacement worked fine. I bought two of these USB to RS-232 converter cables.
