SATECHI 100W USB-C PD GaN Compact USB-C Charger

I've bought two of these, one through work and one at home. I was originally pretty pleased with the device till its bugs reared their ugly head. If you want the device for USB PPS, so super fast charging Samsung devices then beware. The charger gets into a state where the ports will no longer do super faster charging, they will all revert to regular fast charge, which is extremely annoying. The only way to fix it is to power cycle the charger. This is not worth the money if you're not charging tiny devices or laptops. It's very bizarre. I bought this USB PD (Power Delivery) Charger simply to charge high output 21700 Lithium-ion batteries and it does the job, really well too compared to other 5v USB chargers which can get quite warm with the current draw required. That usually means you are pushing their output limits and that could end up burning them out before long. The Satechi 100w charger hardly even breaks sweat doing the job, showing virtually no temperature rise at all. That means it was made to handle such jobs. This is (almost) faultless. The 2x USB-C ports each charging PD are ideal. I like that they're equivalent, so it doesn't matter what's plugged in - though that means they'll of course share their charge. Ideally it'd be good to have another USB-A port, but this seems unimportant when there are two fast ports. If you use a lower powered usbc charger, your cpu can be throttled on the laptop. So make sure you don't use an under powered charger.

I agree with some previous reivews that the device is buggy. Connect one device and it works perfectly, connect the second one and it doesnt charge. I have to power cycle the charger to get both of them to work. In some cases have to restart a few times to get it to charge 2 devices simultaneously. Thankfully i am within the warrantly period and will be taking this device back for a replacement/refund. I agree with some previous reivews that the device is buggy. Used this as a travel charger for years, would charge my laptop, phone and watch all at full speed all at once which is what I would need in hotel rooms when travelling a lot. About 3 years after I bought it the USB-C ports stopped both working at the same time, now only one will work at a time depending which one is plugged in first. Only put it down a star because it's been a workhorse for 3 years until that happened. Initially I was quite impressed about the charger size and performance (exactly what I needed), have bought two units, but one stopped working very soon after warranty, second one not so late after then. My only gripe is that the USB-C PD ports are not "smart" enough to down-rate their power for non-PD devices. For example you can't use a USB-C to USB-C cable plugged into a PD port to charge your earbuds. You have to use the USB-A port instead, which may not fast-charge (device and cable dependent of course). Not crazy about the price but I own two of them because I do like them. Not too bad but as a previous reviewer mentioned, for whatever reason this unit seems to switch to delivering less power after being on for a certain amount of time. Not sure if I am missing something and this is intentional but since I bought this specifically for super fast charging a Samsung phone, this is a little annoying - particularly in context of the relatively high price.
