By all regards this product is fantastic, and does exactly the job you buy it for.
Being adapting a device with USB type C output capable of the usb3.1 spec 10Gb/s , to a type A output, for devices that lack the required type c Input ports.

However unmentioned in the specifications, and very worthy to note, is that the adaptors type C input is only single sided for the full 10Gb/s .
This means that any device plugged in will have to be plugged in the right way, which you have to guess(every device is different), the result of an incorrectly plugged in device will have the adaptor revert to USB 2.0 speeds.

This is directly the result of the adaptor not being wired to be electrically reversible, which is doable, albeit the end adaptor device becomes more complex in design.

If you seek a USB type C to type A adaptor that supports the full speed of USB 3.1, and is reversible for the device being adapted(As most users generally are), then you will need to seek an adaptor that is specifically Dual-sided superspeed in specification.

This product however is currently misrepresented.

I recently purchased this to be able to charge my iPhone 13 with a MagSafe charger via my computer and in the car. It doesn't work. Tried plugging in various USB outlets and a different MagSafe charger and still no charging.

This is indeed a great adaptor for data transfers and has a solid metallic build that lasts forever. It is doing exactly how it was described. So 5 star for that.

However, I also envisaged that I could use this adaptor to connect the non-USB-C enabled laptop to the USB-C docking system (like Dell WD19 that has been connected to my dual monitors). But it didn't work. I wouldn't complain much though as this purpose was not mentioned in the product description. Bought it for my vr headset hp reverb g2, usb does not have enough power to support it unforunately.

Supports over 400MB/s and the lanyard hole is super useful to connect it to my usb C flashdrive. Note that there seems to be a correct orientation so see which way up is faster. The adaptor is clearly labeled on each side, one with a large X so it's easy to tell which way up it is. Bought this today. On the positive sides it is cheap, it looks good and it attaches to the computer. That is it.

I got this to plug in a USB C NIC. It works as far as connecting and allowing the NIC to do its thing, but it is very limited speed, so limited infact that it is slower than USB2. I got 320Mbps off it. And before anybody says "oh, it must just be the NIC failing" or "you need a more powerful computer to get the full speed" I immediately tested the nic on 2 other computers, and both got the rated 2.5Gbps off it, and as soon as i plugged the nice back in to the adapter on those computers - the laptop is exclusively USB 3 and the ...view more Bought this today.
