Does what it says it does, have had no real problems since plugging it in and using it. Only thing to note is that the converter circuit is located at the HDMI end of the cable which makes the HDMI plug bigger than usual, so you will have to leave a bit of room behind the monitor (if HDMI port is at a 90' angle) for the cable to safely radius. These displayport to hdmi cables are great for using older monitors that only have hdmi. Im using two of them to run my two monitors in portrait mode. Previously purchased two of these cables three years ago and had to replace one of them as it starting failing (Monitor would randomly disconnect), other than that the cables work perfectly.
