Dynamix C-HDMIDP-3 DisplayPort 1.2 to HDMI 1.4 Cable - 3m

Purchased recently along with a number of other components during a recent computer build, with a 48" Samsung TV being used as the monitor. This cable worked well in respect of getting the sound and picture to the TV. Unfortunately, once the TV was turned off (automatically switching off the soundbar which is connected via the TV's HDMI/ARC socket) that was the end of any sound until the HDMIDP cable was unplugged from the computer and both the TV/soundbar power-cycled. I suspect this cable is not VESA compliant and has DisplayPort pin 20 connected to HDMI pin 18, although I am yet to put a multi-meter on it to either confirm or confound my suspicion.

It is not clear which direction the cable operates. In this instance we needed a cable to go from HDMI TO a display port plug in the monitor but this cable only works in one direction - Display port on the device to HDMI monitor.

Quite interesting to find that hardly anywhere sells the opposite direction cable and we had to go through our computer support team to find a supplier in Christchurch. Other than that the product is fine. It is not clear which direction the cable operates. I brought this to connect a desktop PC with an ex lease HP Elite 8200 SFF Desktop PC to my 1080p TV.

It appears to work fine.

I did have a scaling problem with the 1080p output not all fitting onto the monitor. This was solved in Win10 through scaling down the video to about 67%, and in linux by setting a modeset line which selected a 30Hz 1080p output (didn't work for another TV I tried though).

I purchased this product and found that it worked with no problems. The quality of the product is a high grade. The only thing I don't like was the cost, I believe PB Tech can do better in pricing. Nice adapter, works a treat, and is barely bigger than a standard DisplayPort plug. Very sleek.
Because this uses the DisplayPort cable, with the adapter on the HDMI end, the bend radius of the cable is slightly more than a plain HDMI cable; allow 100mm clearance behind the HDMI socket to let the cable bend without putting strain on the plug.
This was the best price I found on the web in NZ, even including delivery and the credit card surcharge... don't expect overnight delivery, or even next day despatch.
