Docking one star because I had to buy a cable to determine its wiring, it's nicely constructed and seems good quality.

In USB 2, A-plug to A-plug cables like this one were specifically prohibited, but the USB 3 spec (good bedtime reading material: USB 3.1 Legacy Cable and Connector Specification, 5.5.2) does describe a way to wire them with the VBUS (power) and D+/D- (not-superspeed data) not connected. This cable connects VBUS straight through, so it works for situations where one end is plugged in to a normal USB A receptacle on a computer/hub/etc and the other is a USB A receptacle on a device that needs to be powered by the cable. If both receptacles provide power then this wiring could be problematic.
