It gets pretty hot, but it should be fine.
You also have to set up the SSD, but it's pretty easy if you know what your doing.
Little bit worried about the cover sliding off in my bag.

I have numerous M.2 enclosures and these are my favourite.
They are solid, have a built in heatsink and retain the M.2 drive securely.

Unfortunately only got 5Gbps (660 MB/s) even though connected via Type-C to Type-C cable to a Type-C USB 3.2 Gen2x2 port with a 5000 MB/s read speed internal drive and 2400 MB/s write speed drive set up in the Orico enclosure. Get a decent speed from a Raspberry Pi 5 faster than a SATA SSD. Currently using an older M2 SSD but seems good.

Easy to use, and very fast access to SSD. Perfect for quick access to an SSD.

Great device and has terrific performance if you use the correct cables. Many generic USB-C cables only support USB2 speeds.
